Just across the bus station, the hotel is a very convenient choice for catching buses in odd hours (with a 24-hour reception desk really manned with staff). Room is clean and spacious. Bathroom is clean too with an acceptable hot shower. Common area has a few sofas and they are very generous in turning the A/C to cool the place. A shout-out to the young receptionist who gave a 5-star services though i didn't catch his name. I arrived at 5am in the morning and was about to drop my bag before check-in in the afternoon. I then realized I made a mistake and booked the room the night before and they therefore cancelled my reservation. The young gentlemen immediately offered me a room at the same price for tonight, and I could use the room immediately. And he speaks impeccable English. But other receptionists are less impressive.

I have stayed at Hotel El Espanol many times in the past. This trip I was traveling with my friend and she agreed with me: This is a well-managed hotel, the staff is excellent, and this is one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed in — it’s a very comfortable place to stay. Great neighborhood with easy access to the ADO bus station to make day trips all over the surrounding area and there is a nearby plaza as well as many food options, laundries, and stores. Ez walk to the cathedral and Mercado San Benito. We loved the pool and sun deck area. The pool area attendant cleaned every morning and afternoon — great place to get sun, also!

This is a really fine hotel, and for the price, it is outstanding. The staff is professional, courteous, and provided me with help finding restaurants within my budget, as well as recommendations for travel to Uxmal. The reception area and common areas, as well as the pool and patio area were well-maintained and clean. Hand sanitizer was available throughout the hotel and everyone wore masks and maintained 2 meters distance. Also, the staff required that all guests wear masks throughout the common areas. My room was spotless and I felt very comfortable during my stay. I will definitely return.

Clean, well-maintained property (at check-in, I noticed my bedside light was not working and asked about it: fixed immediately). Quiet at night and excellent staff. We received excellent recommendations regarding Cenotes to visit in the area and tips on traveling to and from Parqu Kukulcan to see the Leones play baseball. Great location with good and affordable food available at the hotel and nearby. 1 minute walk to ADO terminal.

We liked everything so much that this review is for an extra night we added! Great management ahd staff at this hotel. Particularly help was Martin because my companion does not speak Spanish but she and could communicate with Martin in English.
